What is the National Film & Sci-Fi Museum?
The National Film & Sci-Fi Museum is dedicated to the preservation, restoration and exhibition of the art, skills and dedication that goes into delivering some of the world’s most successful films and tv shows. It has a series of dedicated displays of genuine and replica props and memorabilia from across all genres of Film & Sci-Fi.

Who runs the National Film & Sci-Fi Museum?
The National Film & Sci-Fi Museum was set up by a trust to become the place to share the knowledge and passion for film and science fiction and preserve the history of some of the nations best loved set pieces. The people who make up the trust have years of experience as collectors, convention organisers and professionals within the film & TV industry.

Chaired by Jason Joiner, the museum is a legacy project that has enabled him to put his lifelong hobby into a public space to share with you all.

 

Planning your visit

How big is the museum?
The museum floor is set in 25,000ft2 which are split into amazing themed areas for the public to enjoy.

How long should I plan for my visit?
You can take as long as you would like looking at the displays but we recommend at least 2 hours to make the most of your visit.

When is the museum open?
Friday to Sunday
10am – 5pm

During School Holidays we are open Tuesday to Sunday – please check the ticket link for details.

Are there security checks?
For some special events you may be asked to go through a bag check upon entry. Please take heed of all the instructions issued to you from our staff or security teams.

Is there a shop?
Yes, like all good attractions we have a gift shop. We have a range of collectable items, genuinely signed goods and toys.

Is there Wi-Fi?
There is no public wi-fi attached to the museum but it has a good network provider signal. Please ensure that any tickets required for entry are downloaded in advance if you do not have a data package.

What are the parking facilities at the venue?
The area has a range of parking options available immediately outside the venue, various fees apply check signage when you arrive for details.

What refreshments are available?
We have a small range of drinks and confectionery available for sale in the shop.

Can I leave the building once I have entered?
Your ticket is valid for the full day, so you are welcome to leave and return.

What types of tickets are there?
There are a number of different ticket types available. Please visit our online shop for the full details.

How do I buy tickets?
Tickets are subject to availability and can be purchased through our ticket shop

What is the refund policy?
We encourage you to think carefully before purchasing tickets as they are non-transferable or refundable. Our full ticket T&Cs can be found here

How do the e-tickets work?
Our tickets are powered by Eventbrite. When you order you will be sent an electronic ticket in PDF form. These can be printed at home in advance or shown on your smart devices for scanning. You can also download the Eventbrite App which stores all your tickets in one place. Please note that the tickets will only scan once so each person wishing to take part in the activity requires their own ticket.

How can I pay for stuff?
The tickets can be paid for in advance through our online shop or on the day using cash or all major payment cards.

Can my child come?
Children under 5 years of age have free entry to the museum and can take part in activities with their parents as long as they have a fully valid ticket. They will still require a ticket to register their attendance.

Are there baby changing facilities?
Yes. We have a changing station available on the ground floor.

Are there public toilets?
Yes. We have two toilets, one of which is an accessible toilet.

Can I cosplay?
Yes! We encourage people to visit us in costume.

Can I take photos or video?
To ensure that the props on display stay protected and the exhibits remain special for as many people as possible, we ask for no photography or filming throughout the museum, except at dedicated photo areas.

Who do I talk to if I have a problem?
If at any point during the day you have any issues, your first port of call would be to speak to our staff at the Front Desk or the crew members during an event. If for some reason they are unable to assist then please ask to speak to the Duty Manager. Please note that it is very hard for us to rectify any issues you have after your visit so please do highlight these at the time so we can assist in making your trip to the National Film & Sci-Fi Museum as enjoyable as possible.

What do I do if I lose something or find something lost?
If you find an item, then please hand it into a member of the staff or crew who will make sure it gets to the Front Desk. If you lose an item, please visit the Front Desk with the full details of what it is that you have lost. If they do not have the item, you can leave your details with them in case it gets handed in at a later stage.

What is the Pixel Bunker?
If you like playing retro arcade games, then this is the area to go to. The Pixel Bunker is a Retro Arcade located on the site of the National Film & Sci-Fi Museum. Please note that there is a separate charge for this facility. Visit thepixelbunker.com for more information
